We are seeking a respon­sible and expe­ri­enced Nanny/Family Manager for a family in Cologne, Germany, to care for their 9‑year-old son. The position follows a rota­ting 14-day sche­dule, during which the nanny will be on call 24/7. Both parents work full-time and have deman­ding profes­sional and personal commit­ments. The role extends beyond child­care and includes supporting the family with grocery shop­ping, meal prepa­ra­tion, and various house­hold and orga­niza­tional tasks. The day begins with prepa­ring break­fast, followed by taking the child to school. In addi­tion, the nanny will assist the mother with orga­niza­tional and house­hold respon­si­bi­li­ties, beco­ming a reliable, discreet, and trusted right hand to a busy working mother. The nannies are provided with their own fully furnished three-room apart­ment nearby, where they reside during their working periods on a rota­tional basis. Work assign­ments are arranged flexibly accor­ding to the family’s needs and sche­dule. Travel accom­p­animent may also be required and will be discussed and planned with the nannies in advance. Ideally, the nanny will have a good command of English, as the boy attends an English-spea­king school and requires support with home­work. Previous expe­ri­ence in a compa­rable private house­hold is highly desi­rable, and excel­lent refe­rences are appre­ciated. The family places great importance on a completed educa­tional or pedago­gical quali­fi­ca­tion, as well as an empa­thetic yet consis­tent approach to guiding and supporting their son. A driving licence is preferred, and a vehicle can be provided. Swim­ming skills are essen­tial. The family is looking for a nanny who will not only care for their son but also actively support the mother in his upbrin­ging and deve­lo­p­ment. The ideal candi­date is warm, caring, and approachable, while also being capable of setting clear boun­da­ries and main­tai­ning consis­tency. Respon­si­bi­li­ties also include keeping the child’s room tidy and carrying out light house­kee­ping duties. A house­keeper is employed by the family as well.
