Hamburg: Nanny with
hands-on approach wanted
From August, we are looking for a warm and qualified nanny with experience of caring for infants to join a lively family with four children in Hamburg. The main focus will be on looking after the two youngest children, aged 4½ years and 7 months. The youngest will be starting at the company crèche in September. The role offers 30 hours including housework, though full-time is also welcome, e.g. with evening care and weekend work. The two older children attend school, and the two younger ones need to be collected from the company nursery at 1 pm or 2 pm. Your working hours will usually run until 7.30 pm. The mother will be returning to full-time work from January 2027.
You are a nursery nurse or childcare worker and have relevant experience in a private household. You are hands-on and confident in your ability to manage a lively household with four boys.
Light housework, such as preparing child-friendly meals and occasionally cooking, tidying up after playtime and doing the laundry, will form part of your duties, as will providing educational activities for the children. You will organise creative and educational activities that promote the children’s motor and cognitive skills in an age-appropriate manner. A warm, reliable and responsible personality is particularly important to us. A housekeeper will provide support for 12 hours a week. You should enjoy working with children and be able to organise the family’s daily routine harmoniously through flexibility and organisational skills. A driving licence is not necessary, as we live in a central part of Hamburg and everything is within walking distance or accessible by cargo bike.
There is also the option of renting a furnished flat nearby.
